The Wide Churchill is one of the latest addition to the Romeo Y Julieta Stable. Following the launch of the short Churchill launched in 2006, the slightly longer and much stouter WIDE CHURCHILL reflects the current fashion for heavy ring gauge vitolas.The cigars exude smooth,subtle aromas that are the hallmark of the medium flavoured Romeo Y Julieta brand.

Named after William Shakespeare’s tragic lovers, the origins of R&J as a cigar brand date back to 1875. The brand rose to international fame during the early years of the 20th century under the direction of Don “Pepin” Fernandez,
who was amongst the first to recognize the attraction of the cigar band. During his heyday no less than 20,000 different bands were used in production.
Winston Churchill became a devotee of R&J. Since his visit to Havana in 1946, his name has been commemorated on a band and used to describe the marque’s most famous size – 7 inches x 47 – the Churchill.
Romeo y Julieta’s balanced and aromatic blend of selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region make it the classic medium bodied brand.
